Lately Rod has been looking into shipping our station wagon to France. Just to get prices. Since he works in transportation he has some contacts. He got in touch with a company that sends containers to France. He didn't realize at first that the containers go by plane.
Yes, you can fly your car to France on a plane. We were told to drain the oil and gas first.
Can you even guess the price??
$9,750. One way.
So we are still looking around!

Joey's passport
Rod and I took Joey to the post office on May 28th to get his passport (both parents have to go) and it arrived today, June 16th! Quicker than the 4-6 weeks I was told it would take. I did not pay extra to have it expedited.
We didn't take Ellie to get her passport until June 8th. Her passport is the last one we are waiting on.
After we all have our passports we need to go to the French Consulate in Chicago to apply for a visa. Since we are staying longer than 3 months in France we are supposed to have a visa. I know of other people who have chosen not to get a visa and didn't have a problem. I will just feel much more confident going through customs if I know I have all the right paperwork.
